Vensterberg

This is a short but strenuous hike up to the peak of Vensterberg (1309m) but well worth the reward of 360° vistas over the mountains, towards the coast and even inland toward the Karoo. This is one of the prominent peaks near George in the Outeniqua mountain range. This peak is also popular amongst trail runners being the first peak in the 6 Peaks FKT challenge.

Wear good footwear, take enough water and as always, take a jacket when hiking in the mountains. The weather can go from warm in the gullies to cold on the exposed windy slopes.
